Food Safety (HACCP Level 1 + 2)
Food Safety training educates learners on the safe preparation and storage of food. Knowledge gained from the course can be very fitting to a wide range of areas in life.
There is no stipulations on who can attend the course as long students are physically capable of carrying out skills gained. The instructor largely tailors to suit health/social care settings.
The course instructor is Tanya Mullins. Tanya is a Team Leader in our Day Service here at Kingsriver. She has over 30 years experience in the social care sector, across a number of roles.
The course will be delivered in person at our centre in Ennisnag, Stoneyford, Co. Kilkenny.
The course is 3 hours long and runs from 09:30 am to 12:30 pm.

What is the role of a food handler
Recognising different types of health issues that poor food hygiene may cause
Understanding food legislation & regulations
Identifying different types of food safety hazards
How to prevent putting food at risk
Personal hygiene standards that can prevent food from contamination
Understanding the principles of a HACCP programme
Safe procedures in receiving, storing, and returning goods
Applied food safety
You will be required to complete an MCQ exam. The pass mark for this exam is 70%.
On successful completion of the course students will receive a HACCP Level 1 & 2 certificate. This certificate is valid for 2 years from date of completion.
